DAY 42!. Hi everyone. thank you for all the support I have gotten from soo many people. Today... Early Monday morning. I met my trainer at the wellness center at 5:30 am! Just call me crazy, but it was nice. Not crowded and I still have the whole day ahead of me. Trying to buy better food for us here at the house. Hoping to make our house healthier. Happy 24th to Utah!.

DAY 37.... Oohhh.. blew it with my food intake today. It is my 26th wedding anniversary and we went to Red Lobster. I tried to eat the lighter stuff, but who can go to Red Lobster and not eat more than one cheddar bay biscuit? I am going to have to get going harder on my cardio to burn more calories. Enjoying all the extra energy I have. I honestly think I have lost more weight than the scale says. I have definately got more muscles. My trainer is good at working out each muscle group. I need to keep my head in the game.. In our class last week we learned more about being more "Self Aware" That is my goal.! Thanks UVRMC for this opportunity to get heart healthy!

Day 33!! It's saturday morning and I just spent 90 minutes in the wellness center with my trainer. I am feeling the burn! But have tons of energy right now. This week was a little rougher with eating situation. Ate out more than usual d/t activities and time restraints. Gained back 1 pound. I think this morning I probably worked that 1 pound off!. This has been the best experience for me. I'm so glad that I was chosen to do this!!!. I can't believe it is 1/3 of the way done. If I can keep on this trend I will reach my initial goal. It's a little easier to stick to it because I am seeing and feeling the results of all my efforts. I want to thank everyone for their words of encouragment. Every little bit helps!

DAY 28!!! Wow, What a week!! The weekend at the cabin had me riding 4 wheelers and swimming in the resevoir. I actually did some workout stuff in the water. I learned that abdominal crunches are challenging but effective when you do them trying to balance on 3 water noodles!. I felt the burn!. Just keeping a conscious watch on what goes in my mouth helps tons. Happy 4th to everyone. I didn't have much of a challenge to stay on my goals that day. Walked that morning. Worked all day and then had a great chicken bbq dinner prepared by my husband. Then went to bed. Missed the fireworks but work pretty much hammered me!. Good Team work to everyone that was working that busy afternoon in the ER.

DAY 25! I am starting to like excercise.. How weird is that? This is definately a change of life style. But my family is starting to get into it with me and the food changes will help us all. We are loading up right now to go to our cabin for a couple of days. My work-outs have been great.! Staying busy with work and exercise time, family time and free time are all a challenge. I feel like i have more energy and the scale is reflecting a mild weight loss. Yeah.. Thanks Intermountain for giving me this opportunity to get heart healthy!

Hi,
Welcome to my Blog.... I'm glad I have been given the opportunity to do be involved in this 100 Day Heart Challenge. These first 3 weeks have been challenging. It really is a life style change that needs to take place to accomplish this challenge. I had to work on finding time to get to the gym with my trainer and also time and energy to do some cardio on my own. Then the food changes.... Well if it was just me at home...It would be easy to accomplish the change in foods, ... But I have a spouse and 2 growing sons at home that also need fed. I found an app on my phone that is called "Lose It". It is awesome... I can actually scan in bar codes on foods and it is entered into my phone so I can just pick it when I eat it and it goes into my daily food log, with all it's nutrients. It is awesome. This program helps me count calories and also I enter in my exercise done and that is calculated also. It even has restaurants and fast food places that I just pull up the place and pick the item and it is added to my log. It has been a big help. The couple of nutrition class so far have been very good and informative. My weight loss to this point has not been great, but I am feeling stronger and not as out of breath when I am in the gym and walking. I'm not even craving my diet coke. I dropped down to 1 to 2 cans of diet coke a day... but I take it a day at a time. I am on day 17 at this point. Check back to see my progress.
